2009 'Pro'/Am Report
Once again the Pro/Am had great support with 21 teams lined up for the shotgun start contesting for this years prizes. It is a great opporuntunity for the 'amateurs' to have the chance to play alongside these talented young golfers, many of whom will progress to successful careers as professional golfers. This year we were treated not only to good weather on the course but also a fly past by The Red Arrows!
Following an excellent lunch with entertainment and the charity auction the prizes were awarded with the first prize going to the winning team of Steve Johnson, Karl Crimes and Ian Wallace with their 'pro' Chris Lloyd - who went on to win the Junior Masters trophy this year. Karl Crimes once again had success in the nearest the pin competition winning yet

There were also prizes for ladies and mens nearest the pin and longest drive.

2008 'Pro'/Am Report
In 2008 22 teams were treated to breakfast before they met their ‘Pros’ and headed off to their tees for the shotgun start. It is an honour for the 22 boys who are selected to play in the ‘Pro’/Am, giving them invaluable experience for the future. The team stableford format invites a contribution to the team score to both the amateurs as well as their Junior. The Juniors also play for an individual prize for those with the best gross score. In 2008 the winning team included amateurs Chris Sayer and father & son, PJ and Bryan Rutherford, and with their ‘Pro’ Chris Selfridge from Ireland. In second place on count back were Karl Crimes, Steve Sutcliffe, Frank Smedley and their 'Pro' Paul Dunne and in third place 3 lady members from Nizels; Nikki Bell, Adele Young and Amanda Rose with their ‘Pro’ Tuomas Salminen from Finland. The prize for the best gross score was won by Garrick Porteous, England, with a gross score of 70.
There were also prizes for longest drives and nearest the pin, the men’s nearest the pin was won quite spectacularly by Karl Crimes who got a hole in one on Nizels signature 16th hole. His prize was a power trolley donated by www.PowerProGolf.com and a trolley bag donated by Nizels Pro-Shop.
Over lunch Mike Cassidy entertained guests with his hilarious combination of stand up gags and magic tricks. The Nizels Chef and his team excelled by providing a gourmet feast with plenty for everyone. The Charity Auction held after lunch raised in excess of £1200 with the top bid being for a 4 Ball at Wentworth.
