SIR HENRY COOPER JUNIOR MASTERS CHARITABLE TRUST
The Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters Charitable Trust was established as a result of conversations between Alan Cheeseman and The English Golf Union, when it became apparent that some highly talented juniors were being forced to abandon potentially promising careers in golf through lack of financial resources. The founding principle of the Trust is to provide training and travel bursaries for high potential junior golfers with insufficient financial resources to pursue their golfing ambitions.
The Trust ensures that some of the most promising young prospects have additional financial support to remain in their national coaching scheme.
In recent years we have seen an increasing number of our beneficiaries progressing through to the international circuit.
Oliver Fisher is regarded as one of Europe's best golfing prospects of recent years. As a junior he was the recipient of bursaries from the Junior Masters Charitable Trust and was a part of Nick Faldo's development programme for young golfers. In 2005 he became the youngest ever player to take part in the Walker Cup.
In late 2006 he competed at the European Tour Qualifying School as an amateur. He finished fifth to become the youngest Briton to win a tour card and immediately turned professional.
