On Wednesday 23rd November we held a reception at 'The Gherkin' at the invitation of Hunton & Williams in their 19th floor reception rooms.  This event was held to thank our sponsors and supporters, and to let our guests know of our future plans - more to come.  We were delighted that Mr Hugh Robertson, Minister for Sports and the Olympics, was able to join us.   View the photos here

The Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters is one of the most prestigious golf championships for elite Under-18 players in Europe.  The professionalism of the format has become the template for many similar international events, which is why it is one of the best known junior golf tournaments in the world.

The Junior Masters is an EGU Order of Merit event and a World Amateur Golf Ranking event.

The Junior-'Pro'/AM was introduced in 2003 to help finance the newly created Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters Charitable Trust.  Committed to supporting talented junior golfers by contributing to their travel and training expenses, the success of this strategy has resulted in unprecedented levels of interest from sponsors and players.

We invite you to look through these pages to learn all about the Junior Masters and check out Twitter to receive all the latest news as it happens.

Sir Henry Cooper OBE KSG

3rd May 1934 - 1st May 2011

Sir Henry Cooper passed away at the age of 76 at his son's house in Oxted, Surrey.

The former English, Commonwealth and European heavyweight champion fought 55 times and is revered for his knockdown of Muhammad Ali in 1963.  Knighted in 2000, Sir Henry became Patron of the Junior Masters Golf Championship that same year and later gave his name to our associated Charity, set up to help talented young golfers achieve their ambitions.

Our 'Enry was a true friend of the Junior Masters and will be remembered always, not just because of his great sporting exploits and his good works since, but also  through this great Junior Golf Championship which bears his name.

He and his family have given their blessing to the continued title 'Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters', which will live on as a permanent memorial this great man.
Our sincere condolences and good wishes are extended to his family.        Alan Cheeseman
